As we near the tenth anniversary of Robin Williams’ passing, I thought it would be a good time to once again talk about this great man.
It still amazes me how one person, who many people (myself included) never met, could leave such an enormous impact on the world. So many of us have mourned and shared different moments throughout his career and have ones we consider our favorites. Today I would like to do the same.
I’ve spoken about him here many times, so now I feel I’ll let him speak for himself. Just an artist and his canvas:
“Smile my boy, it’s sunrise.” – Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (His last scene on film)
“The thing that matters are others” – ABC News interview
The montages – Mrs. Doubtfire (Couldn’t think of my favorite, so I put them all down)
Genie - Aladdin
FUN FACT: While Disney tried (and failed) to get Robin an Academy Award nomination for his work, the Academy wouldn’t give one for a vocal performance. The Golden Globes however, did give him a special achievement award...
Act Like a Man – The Birdcage
“It’s Not Your Fault!” – Good Will Hunting
“Make Your Life Spectacular” – Jack (Bad movie, great scene.)
8. His appearance on Inside the Actor’s Studio
FUN FACT: During the taping, an audience member was hospitalized because he acquired a hernia from laughing so hard.
