And now we come to the part that Jake would hate the most, but I simply have to add, for this reason:
The day before he died, ten years ago today, the song “How To Save a Life” by The Fray, played on the radio. Hearing the song’s lyrics felt like being stabbed in an already tender wound. But after all these years, I can’t help but wonder if that was Jake’s way of screwing with me one last time here on Earth, or for the first time in the next life.
Well Jake, since I know you hated the sentimental crap, here is a little video I made to get you back.
Jake, the world is so much less fun without you in it; and although it’s been all this time, you still have left an impact on it that will never burn out. You were my best friend, and sometimes my biggest pain in the ass, but you will always be my brother. I love you dude, and I will miss you until, hopefully, we meet again someday.
I love this song. Going forward, whenever I hear it, I will always see this montage of cool, smart, funny, warm , loving Jake Brice 🥰 (I do think Jake would find this amazing💗🙂)
