My Plea to Republicans
I’m not telling you to vote Democrat, all I’m asking/begging is that you don’t vote MAGA!
In today’s divided social climate, where so many of our political discussions turn into screaming matches, today I want to try a different approach.
While I do stand by my Liberal views, I’m not being critical of the Conservative point of view. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want, and as I wrote in the beginning, I’m not trying to make you a Democrat. So with that said, I hope you will listen to me, and keep an open mind.
Let me ask you all a question, what exactly does “end of democracy” mean to you? Probably the same way it plays out in action movies: Terrorists parachute down from planes carrying machine guns, tanks in the streets, martial law goes into effect, and it’s not until the good guys come along to kick ass that the day is saved, and we rejoice in the streets.
Well, here’s another possibility: A politician comes along and begins to discuss how his country is falling apart, and in some ways he’s not wrong. The other politicians are all making false promises, and the working class feel as though they are suffering the hardest. The consensus among citizens is that they are losing their country, until this charismatic new guy comes along. He is finally “speaking for them,” and giving them confidence that their country can once again be back on top. He slowly works his way up the political ladder, by spreading lies and propaganda; by blaming the majority of the country’s issues on a foreign race. The behavior of his supporters becomes cult like, with some referring to his political speeches as if they were, “Hearing God speak.” People wait in lines for hours, sometimes days, just to be graced by his physical presence. They buy his merchandise, and hang up his flags. But, soon the true nature of the man comes through. Some people turn away, but his power grows, and begins to get innocent people hurt and killed. His core base refuses to turn their backs on him, and call those who do, “Enemies of the State.” Eventually the man loses his bid for office, but refuses to go away.
Now, before you all get on my case about my “left wing hate speech,” I’m not talking about Trump; I’m talking about Hitler.
Yes, I know I’m not the first to make this comparison. In fact, it seems to be a popular talking point recently, but the parallels are striking.
Can someone explain to me how Trump refusing the results of a fair election, giving his family (who are completely unqualified) positions of power in the government, or trolling about how he wants to be president for life, doesn’t sound like an authoritarian dictator like Hitler, Mussolini, Putin, or Kim Jong Un?!
The failed insurrection of January 6th was a reminder that although we are still a functioning democracy, that could change. I don’t know for sure, but it would probably be a safe guess to say that a fair amount of people in Germany didn’t actually think the Holocaust would happen, or that Nazi’s would occupy other parts of Europe. Those sort of ideas were unimaginable, until somebody like Hitler came along.
Now to my point. We are less than a year away from an election that could very well put Trump back into power. Sure, a lot could happen, and I would love nothing more than to be just a hysteric, but as of today, he’s the frontrunner.
So, I’m speaking to those of you sensible Americans who are so disgusted by the Left that you are willing to vote Trump, rather than see America run by a Democrat government. This man is a dangerous fascist. Stupid yes, but unstable which makes him all the more dangerous.
You have many options here, believe it or not there are other Republicans running for president.
Don’t start thinking about this in a few months, or in a year, or on election day. Start thinking about it now!

So please, Republicans, it’s up to you now. I know there are a good chunk of you out there who see the light. Band together, and vote this lunatic into the cornfield, or in Trump’s case, the pumpkin patch.
